When you take a look at the problem of obese people in the United States, one will be shocked to realize that 30% of the American population is obese and that they are only damaging their own lives by not looking after their personal health. It seems that these obese people having taken their weight problems to seriously and they better realize in the end that problems that they will experience are irreversible if they don’t do something about their obesity.
One of the most serious effects of obesity in obese people as they grow older is Diabetes and once you have Diabetes the results are irreversible and one’s personal health will only get worse due to their Diabetes. As well other health issues that will be a result of being obese include coronary heart disease, stroke, gout, infertility, sleep apnoea, joint problems and many other health problems which are irreversible once you have them.
Then there are the problems for those who smoke and they don’t realize the permanent damage that they are doing to themselves and in some cases the results are irreversible especially the issue of lung cancer which eventually leads to death. As well smoking has been known to kill a lot of people at a much younger age and that is usually 15 to 20 years earlier that what they normally would.
As well there are other side effects that are a result of smoking and as well they are irreversible as well and two major side effects are hardening of the arteries which leads to arteriosclerosis and as well collateral damage to the immune system and cellular DNA from carcinogen exposure. As well excessive smoking of 20 cigarettes lets tar from the cigarettes coat your lungs like soot in a chimney and causes cancer and as well from smoking 20 cigarettes a day a smoker breathes in up to a full cup which is 210 grams of tar in a year.
And then of course there is the problem with those people that drink excessively and don’t comprehend the irreversible damage that they are doing to themselves and by the time they realize their health issues it too late to rectify these problems. The most serious problem is excessive drinking or alcoholism and alcoholism reduces the life expectancy of a person by 10 to 12 years off their life.
Other health issues that are permanent from excessive drinking of alcohol include Cirrhosis of the Liver where alcohol is absorbed into the small intestine and passes directly into the liver where it then becomes the preferred energy source. In the liver the alcohol then converts to toxic chemicals and most notably acetaldehyde which trigger the production of immune factors which are called cytokines. In large amounts these factors cause inflammation and tissue injury which leads to Cirrhosis of the Liver which is a progressive and irreversible scarring of the liver which may eventually lead to death.
If one definitely wants to live a healthy lifestyle they will need to take their personal health more serious and that means lifestyle changes for those who are obese, smoke excessively or drink excessively. For those that are obese, smoke excessively or drink excessively don’t change their lifestyles, they will have nobody to blame but themselves when they develop health issues that are irreversible and may lead eventually to death in some cases.
